More than an Icon

Ephesians 3:14 … I kneel before the Father and pray that according to the wealth of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner person.

On many social media platforms, there is the possibility to respond with a quick icon: “LOVE”, “SORRY”, or “PRAYING”. Ephesians 3:14-21 is clearly more than an icon. Paul is telling his friends of his desire for them to have a deeper understanding of the unfathomable love of Christ. He is stating how he constantly prays for them, that they might be strengthened through His Spirit … the power that raised Christ from the dead.

The world is changing rapidly. Any time there are major shifts, people become concerned. Many are looking for answers.
We need to be ready to respond to their questions or concerns in His wisdom. As well, we need to respond to hate with the power of His love and confront lies with His grace and truth.

Many Christians need to learn to pray – for leaders, for brothers and sisters, for laborers in the field. Jesus prayed! Paul prayed! We need to spend more time on our knees asking God for strength in our inner person. We need to cry out to God for His power to be in His Church. This week I challenge you to pray at least 15 minutes every day for your fellow believers. Pray for them to be strengthened by His Spirit. And may those seeds inspire us to linger before Him even longer in prayer.
