Confidence

Hebrews 10:23  And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the One who made the promise is trustworthy.

Politicians usually speak in vague terms so they can adjust their words and policies according to the latest polls. This is because they serve a divided mob who get their “information” from news giants who tell the politicians what people are thinking. Few people are trustworthy. We are easily corrupted by money, power, or pride. Many people feel betrayed by governments, leaders, friends, and family. It is critical to recall that God can always be trusted.

According to Jesus, building upon His teachings creates secure foundations because He is true. We can hold onto our confession because the One who made the promise is trustworthy. He has promised rest from worldly burdens to those who learn from Him, tribulation to His servants, and courage in the storms. He has also promised judgement upon His enemies. Yet, the greatest promise is eternal life with Him, fully restored in His perfection.

Trust in the Lord! No one should expect that their comforts are shielded in Him, rather that those who take shelter in Him find comfort. This means that our confidence is not in circumstance, but in His nature. If you are troubled and filled with unrest, seek the Lord and cast your cares on Him. We can have confidence in Him, for He alone is trustworthy.
