The Blessing of Forgiveness

Psalm 103:3 He is the one who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.

This month I will brew a few cups on a subject that has deeply occupied my thoughts of late: forgiving and being forgiven. Today I simply want to begin with a Psalm from David.

Psalm 103: 2-12

Praise the Lord, O my soul! Do not forget any of His kind deeds.

He is the one who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.

He delivers your life from the pit, and crowns you with His loyal love and compassion.

He is the one who satisfies you with good things and renews your strength.

The Lord does what is right and executes justice for all the oppressed.

He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; He does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve.

For as the Heavens are high above the earth, so His loyal love towers over His faithful followers.

As far as the East is from the West, so He removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us.

Psalm 103 is like a blessing being poured upon us from above. It is a blessing of strength, healing, and deliverance that is extended to us by God’s love and forgiveness. Today let His love and His undeserved forgiveness wash over you, may it cleanse you, restore you, and tower over your life. May His forgiveness teach us how to walk in this world of hatred and condemnation. Do not forget any of His kind deeds!
