2 Timothy 3:10-11 You, however, have followed my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, and endurance. You know, as well, the persecutions and sufferings that I have experienced.
Your Life Message.
I enjoy teaching biblical truths and helping people understand God’s word and His kingdom. When asked to teach for a meeting or a conference, I take the opportunity seriously. I pray and prepare. My desire is to communicate the message of Christ rather than a message from me.
In this letter to his spiritual son, Paul challenges Timothy to continue teaching (in word and deed) what he learned and experienced through Paul’s life. In the verse above, Paul is writing: I have taught you with my words, my life, even my sufferings; now, go and teach this message in the same manner.
Every day each of us have opportunities to “teach” others about Jesus. As with Paul, it is mostly a message taught through our lives and actions. Though this is possibly the most important, authentic teaching we can give, most of us spend little time each day to prepare. We are often unaware of the opportunities or the responsibility. Daily we need to be prepared – not with memorized words or verses, but with a Jesus-focused expectation. How are you preparing for the teachings you will deliver this week?
